KSNV News 3 reported that a $100 million development was taking shape in Henderson, where The Cliff will reuse existing office buildings as what developers called an outdoor lifestyle center with shops, restaurants and places to gather. The story, by Sara Smith, ran with a rendering credited to AO via VAC Development.
Andrew Dunn of VAC Development told the station that the local developers saw a gap in the market and had heard from residents who wanted more shopping and dining closer to home. He said urban outdoor lifestyle centers in higher-demographic, concentrated areas have become great investments. KSNV listed Visual Comfort, Our House, The Taco Stand and Wine Girl among the businesses expected at the project.
Much of the piece went to neighbors. Angela Jackson said she loved the development and the area, and said it would bring jobs and bring families together. Sam Magana, who has lived nearby for 20 years, said the dirt roads she remembered are all buildings now and traffic has grown, though she still finds the valley manageable to get around. Developers told the station that businesses were already lined up and that the project would keep taking shape over the coming months.
